Ventura's Artisan Bakery & Café
Handcrafted sourdoughs, flaky pastries, and small-batch roasts — made fresh every morning at our Market Street kitchen. No shortcuts. No compromises.
Concrete Jungle Brewing Project started as a one-person operation in a borrowed kitchen — fueled by obsession with fermentation, a deep respect for wheat, and the belief that the best things take time.
Today, we're a full kitchen on Market Street, still turning out twelve batches a day, still hand-shaping every croissant, and still treating every customer like they're sitting at the counter. We source from local farms, roast in small batches, and never rush what nature does best.
This isn't a chain. It's a neighborhood bakery with a name that refuses to be quiet about it.
We work with local millers and Ventura County farms. Organic flour, pasture-raised eggs, seasonal fruit — if it's not right, it doesn't come in.
Our sourdough starter is over 5 years old. Every loaf gets 72 hours of cold fermentation. The flavor develops slowly, and we never skip this step.
Hand-shaped, deck-fired, scored with intention. Every batch comes out of the oven before 6 AM so the morning rush gets the best of the day.
From our counter to your hands — warm, fresh, and made for the person standing in front of you. No reheating. No holding. Just bread, now.
From the Neighborhood
"The sourdough here is the real deal. I've tried every bakery in Ventura and nothing comes close to the crust on their country loaf. My family drives 20 minutes just for Saturday morning bread."
"I come here for the cortado and stay for the atmosphere. It's become my Sunday ritual — a good coffee, a pastry, and people who actually remember your name. That's rare."
"The olive and rosemary focaccia is unreal. I brought a loaf to a dinner party and everyone asked where I got it. I told them and watched them all make plans to come here the next day."
